Why Canada did not hold an Express Entry draw this week?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has given an explanation on why they haven’t released this week’s Express Entry draw.

This week’s Express Entry draw did not happen due to recent changes had occurred in Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) made by Federal Government.

On their website, the Federal department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) explains their absence of the regularly-scheduled draw is a result of IRCC’s announcement on Tuesday which clearly explains that it’ll award additional CRS points to French-speaking Express Entry candidates.

Note from IRCC:

“The CRS scores of all the profiles in the pool will be updates automatically before the next invitation round after the updates. This could take up to 2 weeks”

Every two weeks, usually on Wednesday, IRCC holds an Express Entry draw inviting the highest-scoring candidates to apply for Permanent Residence. The last draw happened on Wednesday October 14, 2020, immigrants eagerly waited for this week's draw, which was expected to take place on Wednesday October 28, 2020 but it doesn't happened due to recent update on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
