Saskatchewan PNP requirements

The Occupations In-Demand (OID) and Express Entry (EE) programs are for those who have education and work experience in an in-demand occupation. Eligible occupations must fall under the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) Matrix levels:

• NOC A: jobs that usually require university education
• NOC B: jobs that usually require college education or apprenticeship training
• NOC O: management

This sub-category is for skilled workers who:

• Don't have a job offer in Saskatchewan but are highly skilled in an in-demand occupation.
• Meet the criteria. Criteria can change at any time, but SINP will use what was mentioned on their website when they first got application.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must pay a non-refundable $350 application fee online by Visa or Mastercard. It is the last step in order to submit your application.

You may qualify if:

• You live outside of Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada
• Are not a refugee claimant
• Score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the SINP point assessment grid
• Have a language score of at least 4 – Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4

o   Some employers may ask for language scores that are higher than CLB 4

• Have completed post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship that's comparable to that in Canada
• Have earned a diploma, certificate or degree

o   For education outside of Canada, you must submit an educational credential assessment (ECA) from a designated organization

o   Individuals who have completed trades or job training as part of their high school education must instead apply for Saskatchewan licensure

• Have work experience that is high skilled and not on the Excluded Occupation List

o   You must have a minimum of one year of full-time (minimum 30 hours per week) paid work experience in a skilled occupation over the past 10 years related to your field of education.

o Your work experience must be in a high skilled occupation (NOC "0", "A" or "B") that is considered to be in-demand in Saskatchewan at the time of your application.

• Your work experience must be related to your occupation and education
• You may need to provide proof of Professional Status or of eligibility of Licensure

o   You must include all required documents in your application. Missing documents will result in your incomplete application being returned. Your application fee will not be refunded.

• Have proof of settlement funds (Applicant must have the "Minimum Funds Required" for a minimum of three months before you submit your application) and a settlement plan

Candidates will be assessed points according to the following five factors: education and training, skilled work experience, language ability, age, and connection(s) to the Saskatchewan labour market and adaptability. Candidates are required to score a minimum of 60 out of 100 points on the Points Assessment Grid in order to be eligible for nomination.

Connection to the Saskatchewan Labour Market	Points
Close relative in Saskatchewan The applicant or accompanying spouse has a close relative that is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident residing in Saskatchewan. Close relatives include: Parents Siblings Grandparents Aunts and uncles Nieces and nephews Cousins and Step-family members or in-laws of the same relationships	20
Previous work experience in Saskatchewan The applicant worked in Saskatchewan for at least 12 cumulative months in the past five years on a valid work permit	5

The majority of eligible occupations under the SINP's Express Entry and In-Demand Occupation sub-categories are unregulated and do not require professional licensure. These unregulated professions form the first set of lists below.

If you are asked to provide more documents, your application will be held for processing. The SINP will tell you after you apply if your work experience and education match a job that requires additional documents.

A nomination from the SINP does not guarantee eligibility for licensure in a regulated occupation. You may need to complete other requirements when you arrive in Saskatchewan.

To apply for this sub-category, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). If you successfully submit an EOI, you will be entered into the EOI pool of eligible candidates. Not all candidates who submit an International Skilled Worker EOI will be invited to apply to the SINP.

International Skilled Worker Expression of Interest (EOI):

• is not an application to the SINP
• is a pre-application process which allows candidates to fill out a form to indicate their interest in applying to the SINP

When Not to Apply

Candidates will not be considered eligible under the SINP's International Skilled Worker Category if they:

• Are refugee claimants in Canada
• Have intentionally misrepresented themselves in the application
• Failed to submit documentation as requested by the SINP
• Are food and beverage servers/persons
• Are health professional
• Do not genuinely intend to live and work in Saskatchewan on a permanent basis
